THE MINISTER'S LETTER
I am sure you are all enjoying the warmth and the beautiful flowers that are common every Spring. The trees that had lost their leaves are now blooming with flowers and greens all over. You may feel like you are losing everything but the many trees around you should teach you that better days are coming.
I want to thank Elizabeth Osborn who has been doing our pew leaflet for up to 50 years. What a legacy. We value her contribution for all these years. I ask that God bless her and family. Thank you/Siyabonga/tinotenda. We welcome Remi who is taking over from Elizabeth and we promise to support him all the time.
Our hybrid services are going on well. We thank God for those who are able to come to church and also thank the Lord for enabling us to connect virtually with our members who are not able to join us for communal worship due to a number of reasons. My key word this week is inclusion. We need to make sure that our church remains a place of Welcome to all and sundry. I am encouraged by Paul when he urges us to live a life worthy of the calling we have received. This includes being humble and gentle, being patient and bearing with one another in love. May you make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. Since there is one body, one Spirit, one hope, one faith, one baptism and one God, I encourage you to be united always. (Ephesians 4:4)
As most of the places are now open for business, we pray for protection and observation of covid19 guidelines. May we remember our brothers and sisters in India and other parts of the world that are hard hit by the corona virus pandemic. We also pray for our brothers and sisters on the Caribbean Island of St. Vincent which was affected by a severe volcano which sent up clouds of ash 20,000 feet into the air, blanketing much of the Island in ash and causing water and electricity outages.
The circuit is inviting us to a virtual Global Pentecostal service on the 23rd of May 2021 at 6pm. More details will be availed soon.
Hoping to see you at church or on Zoom every Sunday.
