THE MINISTER'S LETTER

Greetings and welcome to LMC, a place of welcome!

As we prepare for the extra ordinary coming out of the ordinary, I have decided to give you our connexional material on changing your mind.

Background notes

John the Baptist called the people out of their ordinary places into the wilderness for transformation. He preached ‘metanoia’ – literally changing the mind. New encounters and experiences cause us to rethink. Our brains literally re-wire themselves when we learn new things.

Questions for discussion

  • Can you remember a time when you learned something; what did the process feel like?
  • Jesus challenged people to change their minds. Do you find change easy or hard?
  • What does ‘being Christlike’ mean to you?

    • Prayer ideas

  • Offer a time of quiet reflection and invite the Holy Spirit to work in us.
  • Offer yourself for change.

    • The good news to get across

    We are daily presented with new opportunities to change, rethink and grow to become more Christlike. Don’t be stubborn and stuck.
